So I made this initially just to do with mushrooms and chicken - moral of the story I forgot to bring the chicken with me.. So I threw in some bacon (it's all I had)
But. What I didn't realise is how good of an all round sauce that this would be, The cheesy mushrooms are a perfect side order to steak or a beef burger. With chicken.. Bacon as I said it's an all rounder.
I also made way too much sauce for the amount of mushrooms I had, this recipe will give you about 3 servings of the sauce.
So the recipe is for just the mushrooms but I'll definitely be repeating it with other combinations. It is gluten free but pretty heavy on the dairy.
Soft cheese 2tbsp
White cheddar 50g (grated)
Garlic 3 cloves (minced
Seasoning to taste - salt, garlic, rosemary and Oregano
Fry your mushrooms and fresh garlic in a skillet or deep frying pan - you can leave the mushrooms whole or slice them once cooked allow to simmer while you make the sauce
Soften the cream cheese for 30seconds in the microwave
Mix the cream, soft cheese, cheddar and seasonings thoroughly
Pour in over the mushrooms and cook until Piping hot but not boiling
Macros: This sauce makes about 3 servings, it's pretty calorie dense with the full fat cream but they're good Calories and when you're serving it with a side such as mushrooms or chicken you're keeping it pretty low. Calories below are for 1 serving of the total recipe
