Keto Buns - for burgers, mcmuffins and more

A fathead inspired low carb yummy bun! can be filled with all kinds, burgers, chicken, salad why not even go for a bacon and egg mcmuffin.

Ingredients:

  • 165grams mozzarella

  • 36grams softcheese (2 tbsp)

  • 80grams ground almonds

  • 1 egg

  • Seasonings of your choice (I go for oregano,rosemary, garlic OR a vindaloo style curry mix  

Macros per serving: (1bun)

  • Calories: 126

  • Fat: 8.3g

  • Carbs: 1.2g

  • Protein: 10g




Instructions:

  1. Put the Mozzarella, almond flour and soft cheese into a microwavable bowl and mix.

  2. Microwave for a little over a minute

  3. Mix around, put back in the microwave for another 30 secs

  4. Add the egg and seasoning to the bowl (I usually go for a pinch of salt, 1/4 - 3/4 teaspoon of oregano and garlic)

  5. Mix and fold well until the egg is no longer separated from the mixture.

  6. .Divide into six balls place on oven tray and press down Into the bun shape ( I use silicon mats but grease proof paper will do)

  7. Put in the a preheated oven to 200 degrees celsius and cook for 15- 20 mins - or until golden brown! 

  8. Voila! Use straight away or put them in the fridge or freezer for later use once cooled down.

Side Notes:

  • I use a lot of garlic, I love the stuff so feel free to cut back on any of the seasonings

  • I use the Aldi low fat cream cheese, partially because they do awesome garlic and herb and sweet chilli flavoured ones! But feel free to use a full fat soft cheese! just remember the macros will be slightly different in terms of cals and fat content!!
